“Kerry Maiorca, MA Candidate in Somatic Counseling, Intern therapist, E-RYT 500
Kerry is passionate about empowering clients to reconnect with their body’s messages to enhance whole person health. A third-year master’s student at Naropa University in Boulder, she brings more than 25 years of experience in yoga and mindfulness to her role as an intern somatic therapist.
Kerry works with adults and adolescents and specializes in helping clients who are seeking support with the complexity that accompanies anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. Having trained as a sound therapy practitioner, Kerry enjoys guiding group sound baths as well as incorporating Himalayan singing bowls with interested clients to provide an in-session experience of deep relaxation and resourcing.
As someone who did not come to therapy until her 40s, Kerry is all about making the process unintimidating, down-to-earth, and accessible to anyone who desires support in living a more satisfying life. A somatic therapy session with Kerry is client-led and collaborative, and she weaves in humor, simple mindfulness techniques, and experientials designed to help you reconnect with your body. In addition, Kerry incorporates more traditional forms of talk therapy such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when indicated to offer a balanced experience that meets you where you are on any given day.
When not seeing clients or teaching yoga and mindfulness, Kerry loves getting outside with her husband, kids, and dog to enjoy all the nature, beauty, and fun the front range has to offer! ”
